John Forman - The Essentials of Trading author
A member of my mailing list asked me over the weekend whether I run any trading workshops, webinars, or trading room. He was specifically inquiring about anything related to the price distribution methodology I use in my market analysis and trading, but it’s a question which comes up from time to time in general anyway. That being the case, I figured I would answer it here in public.
Of late I haven’t done really anything in the way of live education events - just a conference call run by someone else on an occassion or two. My schedule has been challenging in that regard, and I’ve been under some regulatory constraints due to my job and the company for which I work (a Registered Investment Advisor per the SEC). Also, my work set-up at home hasn’t been very conducive.
Things will be changing over the next few months, though.
First of all, I’m going to be switching my professional focus. For the last couple of years I’ve been a stock market analyst. As of next Monday I am going to be back in the forex market, though. Same employer. Same desk even. Just a different product and manager. The equity product I’ve been working on will be going away (high up corporate decision), which is what’s lead to this change. Because we won’t be covering stocks in the business anymore, it will loosen up the restrictions, so I’ll have more flexibility in my external efforts.
The second thing is that I’ll be moving in the near future. I’m pretty well fed up with my current place on most levels, and isn’t well set up for me to do a lot of the things I would like to do. The next one will definitely be much more oriented in that direction - and just generally a nicer place to live.
So I guess the bottom line is this: Once the dust settles from my various rearrangements I’ll be looking to do more in terms of live things. As always, thoughts, ideas, and suggestions are welcome and encouraged.
