Stock screeners revisted

I get questions periodically about stock screeners, and see others frequently on discussion forum sites. Today I came across a pretty good listing of them by a fellow blogger. The post Free Stock screeners for technical analysis lists a handful of them that have a technical focus. On the left side of the page you’ll also find a list of ones which are more fundamentally driven. There’s also a link within the post to a previous entry which talks about them. Good stuff for any stock traders out there looking for a good set of tools to identify the stocks you target for your trading.

Of course many brokers also have free screeners. Some are better than others, naturally. I’ve been using Charles Schwab for years and have employed theirs quite successfully.

For those who want to be able to employ a screener which incorporates the CANSLIM elements (from the book How to Make Money in Stocks) and other Investor’s Business Daily statistics there’s the one offered by Daily Graphs. It’s another one I find quite useful. They charge for that one, but not a ton.
