It’s another crazy day in the markets today, so let me take some time out to offer up a few interesting resources you might find handy.
Firstly, you may recall my mentioning a forex blog that was being run in-house through my employer by a former forex trader/dealer and analyst. Well, unfortunately the company decided a while back to jettison that offering. For my now former co-worked that meant about a year’s worth of work putting the blog together and really ramping it up to some nice traffic was out the window. It was right to the point being something very worthwhile too.
That cut cost him his job, but he’s resurfaced with a new blog he’s now developing along the same lines. It’s call FX Briefs and he and the group of contributors he’s developed around the globe (including my old boss from my forex analyst days) is posting some really good stuff. Even if you’re not a forex trader, there are things that go through the currency market which are relevant to stocks, fixed income, and commodities.
The second thing you might find interesting and useful is Financial Markets course presented by Robert Shiller at Yale. The full set of lectures from the spring term can be found here: http://oyc.yale.edu/economics/financial-markets/content/downloads
Shiller is very highly respected in both academia and the markets. You’ve probably seen him on CNBC and/or other media outlets. I’m actually planning on taking a look at the lectures myself.
The third thing I’ll mention is FinViz. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth bringing up again as they continue to add new and interesting features. This is definitely one the stock traders will want to take a look at.
